Annabel Faraday
I make stoneware ceramic pieces, vessels and wall pieces inspired by a sense of place. My main body of work involves printing onto raw clay using a technique I’ve developed over many years. Vessels have printed surfaces inside, often with maps, and out. More recently, the collagraphs and screen prints on paper have evolved out of my ongoing fascination with the printing process.
Born in Germany 1949, childhood in Egypt, early teenage classes at Farnham Art School in clay and sculpture, foundation course at Winchester, Sociology degree at Essex University, followed by Ph.D. City Lit Ceramics Diploma course in my early 40s.
Professional member of Craft Potters Association. Crafts Council Maker. Member of Hastings Clay Culture Trail. Work included in the collections of the Potteries Museum, Stoke-on-Trent, Geffrye Museum, Hackney, London and Grassi Museum of Applied Art, Leipzig.
